G1 is the world’s first instance of next-generation fixed wireless access (ngFWA), a new technology developed for residential broadband through 12 years of R&D and launched commercially in late 2021. More than 300 operators in 24 countries have since adopted Tarana ngFWA to deliver better broadband more efficiently. G1 was first made available in the UK in September 2024.
