Watch Communications built their first Tarana G1 site in June of 2022, and has since ramped to 39 active towers in its growing next-generation fixed wireless access (ngFWA) network. Watch’s CEO, Chris Daniels, has over three decades of experience on both the vendor and operator sides of the broadband industry. In March of 2023, Daniels accompanied Tarana representatives on stage at WISPAmerica to explain the top ten things he has learned to look for in a wireless broadband solution, and shared his team’s experience with ngFWA thus far. The following information was pulled directly from Chris’ presentation slides, which he put together himself, unprompted by any Tarana team members.
Chris Daniels’ 10 Primary Considerations for Wireless Solutions
Expanded coverage
High capacity
High subscriber density
High spectral efficiency
High scalability
Reliable NLoS performance
Spectrum reuse of n=1
Active interference mitigation
Future upgradeability
Low cost per subscriber
"Only Tarana checks all of these boxes.” — Chris Daniels, CEO of Watch Communications
